Virginia DCJS security officer training
These are the classes that get you licensed and keep you licensed in Virginia. No filler, no wasted hours. Each one meets the DCJS compulsory minimum training standard and ends with the paperwork you submit for your registration, and we help you file it so you are not left guessing. Each class name below links to its own page.
- DCJS Unarmed Security Officer (01E). The 18-hour entry-level course for unarmed positions, and where a security career starts.
- Armed Security Officer (01E + 05E + 75E). The 50-hour armed path: core subjects, arrest authority, and the handgun course, with 08E shotgun available.
- DCJS renewals and firearms requalification. The 01I in-service and requalification classes that keep your registration current, on Mondays and Fridays.
Firearms and concealed carry classes
Our firearms training is about more than the job. We teach the Virginia concealed carry (CHP) class that meets the state permit requirement in one in-person session, so you leave with the certificate the courthouse wants. Want to go deeper, at your own pace? Our private firearms instruction is one-on-one, for first-time owners through experienced shooters, and includes NRA courses.

Where we train
We are based in Manassas, but our training does not stop at the county line. Our DCJS and firearms classes serve students across Northern Virginia and reach through Virginia and into Maryland, and we are expanding our instructor certifications into DC and West Virginia. For law enforcement, government, and corporate clients, we bring the training to you, in state or out, nationally and internationally. If you need a program somewhere, ask us. The answer is usually yes.
Law enforcement, government, and corporate training
When an agency or a company needs real training, we build it and bring it to them. Active-threat exercises, specialized firearms and tactics, and more, scheduled to your needs and delivered at your location, in or out of state. Tell us what your team needs to be ready for and we will scope it.
Training for churches and organizations
We train groups of every kind, including church safety team training, plus active-threat response, de-escalation, CPR, and first aid. We come to you and build it around your people and your building, because that is how the training actually sticks.

How do I get a Virginia security license?
Complete the DCJS 01E course, pass the exam, submit your fingerprints, and register with DCJS. We walk you through it.
What is the difference between unarmed and armed training?
Unarmed is the 18-hour 01E. Armed adds the 05E arrest authority and 75E handgun courses, for 50 hours total.
Do you travel to train our team?
Yes. For law enforcement, government, and corporate clients, we deliver on-site, in or out of state.
Do I have to be in law enforcement or the military to train here?
No. Our classes are open to anyone who qualifies under Virginia law, including first-timers.
